Problem/Question # 1

My computer freezes up occasionally.  The monitor screen will not change or update.  The keyboard and mouse are completely non-responsive.  What is my problem and what is the best approach toward fixing my problem?

This is possibly the most common problem encountered on Computer Systems today.  There are probably thousands of reasons for this problem.  This problem can originate in one of three areas.  The biggest culprit is hardware.  The second prevailing reason is software.  The third area that causes this symptom is environment.  There are literally thousands of parts (hardware) that can cause freezing.  There are hundreds of pieces of software that can cause this problem.  At lease three environmental issues can cause your Computer System to freeze or halt operations.  Because this is the single biggest 'Computer Problem' of this 'Millennium', I have addressed it first in the 'Tech Notes' pages of this Web Site.  Click on the following 'Button' to 'Jump To' the 'Tech Notes Pages' and read 'Tech Note # 1.

I am new to 'Computers'.  It seems as though I will have to learn a 'New Language' in order to use and/or to understand 'Computers and Computer Operations'.

Problem/Question # 3 (Utilities)

I am new to 'Computers' and a 'Novice' at 'Internet Access'.  I have found a number of 'Web Sites' that offer 'Information (Data/Content)' that I hope to 'Access'.  Most of the 'Information' seems to be in 'Formats' that are 'Foreign' to my 'Computer'.  I have been told that in order to access most of the 'Information' on the 'Internet', I need a number of 'Special' 'Utilities'.  What do I need?  How much do these 'Utilities' cost?  Where do I get these 'Utilities'?  I am a 'Senior Citizen'?  My 'System' is about 3 years old.  My son helps me when he comes to visit but most of the time I have to figure things out for myself.  Please help me so that I can 'Access' the 'Information' on your 'Web Sites' and other 'Internet' Sites that are of 'Interest' to me.

You need 'UTILITIES'.  I have spent a great deal of 'Time' and 'Resources' in the 'Developing' and 'Publishing' of many 'Web Sites'.  Most of my 'Sites' have been 'Built' specifically to 'Share' 'Information' with all of the 'Special People' that I have known.  The 'Information/Data/Content' that I hope to share has come to me in all 'Forms' and 'Formats'.  As the 'Internet' has matured, new methods/tools for 'Planting' 'Content' on the 'Internet' have been made available to 'Web Developers'.  'Development Tools' are usually very expensive and the 'Formatted Information/Data/Content' then is 'Accessed' through the use of sometimes 'Expensive' 'Software'.  Most of the 'Good' 'Software/Tools' 'Manufacturers/Providers' have 'Developed' 'Inexpensive Tools' with which the 'Non-Professional' 'End User' can 'Access' the 'Formatted Information/Data/Content' that is 'Made Available' on and through 'Internet Access'.  All of the 'Information/Data/Content' that I have made available on my 'Web Sites' is 'Viewable' and often times 'Printable' through the use of 'Expensive Software Tools'.  For those who do not 'Have' or 'Use' these 'Expensive Tools', inexpensive and often 'Free Tools and/or Utilities' have been provided by the 'Software Manufacturers/Providers' which allow for 'Viewing/Printing' by the 'End User (You)'.  I have just now completed a 'Page' that has 'Buttons' that provide 'Links' to a number of 'Sites' that 'Provide' 'Software Tools (Utilities)' such that YOU can 'Access/View/Print' many/most of the 'Information/Data/Content' that I have made available on my 'Sites' for 'Sharing'.  Almost all of the 'Content' provided is 'Formatted' by one of the 'Software Packages' that I have to use to 'Maintain' my 'Web Sites' and thus access to almost every 'Piece of Content' requires that a 'Special Utility/Tool' be 'Planted' on YOUR 'System'.  As you find a need for various 'UTILITIES', feel free to 'Download' your required 'Tools' from the 'Web Sites' for which I have provided 'LINKS'.  Click on the 'Button' below to 'Jump' to the 'Page' that 'Provides' the 'Links' to the 'Utilities.  I will soon be adding another 'Page' that will provide 'On-Line' and 'Local' 'Tutorials' that will 'Teach' YOU how to 'Download' and 'Use' the necessary 'Utilities'.  For today, I wish you 'HAPPY COMPUTERING'.
